Funny, but “Sign me up” was uttered Tuesday night at my LifeGroup. This post reminds me of what we were talking about: “The Christian Life.” Look at 2 Corinthians 11 and Paul says he has been in prision, flogged, exposed to death, gotten lashes, been stoned, beaten, shipwrecked, been in danger, worked without sleep, been cold and naked. Since Paul was such a “good Christian” why do some assume that following Jesus will be pain-free? I think it’s the oposite, and, like answering Shackleton’s ad, maybe answering God’s call is more about developing character than an easy life? Anyway, we were talking about Paul’s suffering and we were laughing, saying, reading this passage wouldn’t be a way to get people to come to Christ. It’s like this ad, you read it and say, “Sign Me Up!” Thanks for this post.
